Sector Manager, Strategic Landscape Assessment, Northrop Grumman (NG) Information Systems

Rich is the Sector Manager, Strategic Landscape assessment at Northrop Grumman (NG) Information Systems, his employer since Aug 2002. He is a master’s Level Certified Competitive Analyst through the Academy of Competitive Intelligence and a certified competitive analyst through NG’s internal Competitive Analysis/Price-to-Win (CA/PTW) program.  Rich has been a lead instructor in the Northrop Grumman CA/PTW Bootcamp for eight years developing curriculum and teaching courses in competitive intelligence, primary and secondary intelligence and various structured analytical techniques.  Rich has led over 200 Black Hats, dozens of full-scale war games and hundreds of scenario analyses.  He is known for innovation and developing tools that establish workflows (workbooks) to establish consistent, high quality outputs and is in high demand teaching other NG sectors how to run Black Hats, war games and scenario analysis.  He publishes an internal CI Blog and co-hosts the corporate CA/PTW working group.

Rich is a 23-year Air Force Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) professional.  While on the Joint Staff he helped stand up the new Deputy Directorate of Counter-Intelligence where he learned about the military intelligence cycle and pulled Counter-CI intelligence shifts in the National Military Command Center (NMCC) and National Military Joint Intelligence Center (NMJIC). His years of training in systems analysis, C4ISR, quality (supply chain analysis) and organizational behavior from the Air Force led him naturally into competitive intelligence.
